Sessions During Covid-19
May 28, 2020
Firstly, I would like to sincerely express my gratitude for all of your willingness to adapt alongside me as we all learn how to safely navigate this pandemic. To that point - it is my sincerest hope that this email finds you in good health and hopefully great spirits.
As provincial restrictions have begun to ease, we have begun to see stores re-opening and starting this next chapter of a new normal. Though stores and businesses have brought life back into them, it still feels quite different. The truth is, though restrictions are being lifted, the virus itself is still among us and remains as contagious today. This is why we have seen measures implemented by each business in order to keep everyones health and safety as top priority while attempting to combat and eradicate this virus.
To that end, I have found myself in the same position of contemplation and planning, as a mental health practice. I have been working diligently behind the scenes to find meaningful ways to reopen the office doors for in-person treatment while keeping a stern focus on your health and safety and that of my own (and loved ones that are part of our lives). As a result, I am at a place now where we can begin to shift back to in-person session. Similarly to other businesses, it will look slightly different.
In-person sessions will not be an absolute requirement. In fact, some of you have voiced your preference for online sessions. Therefore, you will not be forced into an in-person session as online will remain an option available to you. In keeping with the health recommendations from public health officials and other regulatory bodies, here is what is in store for the practice at 13 Water St North in Cambridge effective Friday June 5, 2020:
In person sessions will be a limited offering.
Before each appointment you will receive a Covid-19 screening questionnaire via email, (approximately two hours before your appointment), which must be filled out for in-person appointments only. If you happen to receive the screening questionnaire for your online appointment, feel free to ignore. This screening questionnaire will determine whether or not we can safely proceed with our in-person appointment or if we have to either reschedule or move to online. Again, this must be filled out before each in-person appointment until further notice.
The reception area of the office is available for you to use to wait for your appointment. However, due to the ongoing pandemic, we ask that you enter the waiting room no more than 10 minutes before your scheduled appointment time. While waiting for your window to enter the building opens, please wait outside/in your car until such time.
In between each session, we will be thoroughly disinfecting the space and preparing it for our safe use.
While waiting in your car/outside of the building, it would be helpful for you to let us know that you have arrived. You may do so by checking into your appointment by visiting this website on your mobile phone: carrascotherapy.janeapp.com/checkin There is also a sign on the door to the front of the building that will allow you to check in remotely.
Once inside, before settling into the office space, clients are asked to sanitize their hands with the provided sanitizer. Additionally, clients are required to wear masks for the duration of the session.
As the pandemic continues to develop, we will all need to remain diligent and adaptable. To that end, any changes that are made to the practice will be announced here and on social media platforms. It is my hope that we are able to transition back into some form of in-person interaction for a longer lasting period of time.
With gratitude, I am wishing you all good health!
See you soon in the office!
